iNaturalist has no plans to expand its functionality beyond its current focus on wild organisms and recent evidence of wild organisms. We recommend using existing platforms such as Rockd and Litterati for posting observations of non-organismal phenomena. Another platform, Anecdata, allows you to create and manage bespoke data collection projects.
