iNaturalist Next - The Observation Page

When displayed in the app, each observation has the same basic elements and layout. Below is a breakdown of each section.

Evidence and Observation Taxon

Evidence in the form of photos or sounds are displayed at the top (and you can swipe between them if the observation has more than one), plus a star icon to fave the observation if you like, and a pencil icon if the observation is yours - tap that to edit the observation.

Below that is the Observation Taxon as well as basic information like time, date, and locality note. 

And below that are two tabs: Activity and Details. A black bar will be displayed beneath the currently selected tab.

Activity Tab

Here is where identifications and comments are displayed, and you can add an identification or comment yourself by tapping the appropriate button near the bottom of the screen. 

You can also agree with an identification by tapping on the icon with + sign in it:

Finally, if you would like to withdraw an identification you made,  you can do so by tapping on the three dots on the right side of the identification.

Details Tab

Under Details you'll find a map of the observation's location, its coordinates and geoprivacy setting, and date and time information. Tapping on the map will enlarge it and allow you scroll and zoom, as well as copy the observation's coordinates or share the location to your device's native maps app. Below the map is the Date section, displaying both the observation's observed-on date, and its uploaded-on date.

Next is the Data Quality section, which displays the observation's current data quality grade and allow you to vote in the observation's Data Quality Assessment. 

And finally comes the Other Data section, which covers copyright and licensing information, as well as a link to view the observation in a web browser, among other details.
