Requests of this kind are of the form of this flag on Genus Conura that says “needs to be under Chalcidini”. In this case, the request is to re-graft taxon Genus Conura currently grafted to old parent Subfamily Chalcidinae to new parent Tribe Chalcidini.
Step 1: Determine if the taxon is covered by a taxon framework
Determine whether the taxon (e.g. Genus Conura) is covered by a taxon framework (see Section B. Step 2).
If it is covered by a taxon framework, make sure that the new parent being requested is supported by the taxon framework. If it’s not, resolve the flag and leave a comment explaining the situation. If there's strong community support for deviating from the taxon framework source read more about deviations in Section E.
If its not covered by a taxon framework, assuming the requester has provided adequate sources, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Edit the taxon
Navigate to the taxon and click ‘Edit’.
Change the parent name to the new parent. If the “Analyze Unintended Disagreements” notice appears, run the analysis before saving. If additional taxon changes are needed, then after saving, proceed to Section D for steps on splitting taxa.
